Former Amazon executive Brian Donato has joined Bowery Farming, a high-tech indoor grower of leafy greens.

At Amazon, Donato had a number of roles over seven years, including overseeing customer returns, Amazon Fresh and almost half of the North American Fulfillment Network, which included 24 facilities, according to the Bowery website. While at Amazon Fresh, the service expanded from four cities to 12, and orders grew more than 500% in less than a year, according to his Bowery bio.

At senior vice president of operations at Bowery Farming, Donato leads the group that designs, builds and operates Bowery’s “global network of modern farms,” according to the Bowery website.

The New York-based hydroponic grower opened its first operation in February 2017, to supply the tri-state area.
