Okanagan Specialty Fruit names sales director
Okanagan Specialty Fruits Inc., Summerland, British Columbia, has made recent hires, including JF Gamelin as director of sales.
Gamelin most recently was district sales manager for Del Monte Fresh Produce NA in Toronto, and he was also sales manager, Canada, for Dole Canada. His “vision to drive sales while strategically aligning with OSF’s innovative product development and rapidly expanding supply will be integral to the company’s success,” according to a news release.
Okanagan Specialty Fruits grows and markets Artic-brand non-browning apple varieties, and is expanding to Washington state with a facility for receiving, storing, processing, packing and shipping the apples.
Joel Yeager has joined the company as facility operations manager, according to the release, to develop the infrastructure and oversee day-to-day operations when construction is completed.
“We are extremely excited about the growth opportunities ahead of us at OSF,” said Neal Carter, president of Okanagan Specialty Fruits. “The industry experience (that) these new team members bring will play an integral role in reaching our goals and finding creative solutions to any challenges we may encounter along the way.”
His wife, Louisa, co-founded the company. She retired earlier this year as chief financial officer. Andrew Hofer was hired as her successor, according to the release.
