United Fresh opens nominations for retail produce manager awards

The United Fresh Produce Association is accepting nominations for the 2019 Retail Produce Manager Awards Program.

Twenty-five retail produce managers are recognized through the program, culminating with an awards banquet at the United Fresh 2019 in Chicago. Innovative merchandising, produce-related community outreach and increased store sales are recognized through the program, according to a news release.

The program, in its 15th year, is sponsored by Dole Food Co.

“These men and women do so much to promote the increased consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, and this gives us an opportunity to recognize that contribution and a platform to express our sincere thanks on behalf of our company and our industry,” Johan Linden, president and CEO of Dole Food Co., said in the release.

The 25 award winners and their corporate produce directors will receive complimentary airfare, hotel accommodations and registration to United Fresh 2019.

Since the program began, more than 300 produce managers from more than 100 retail banners have been honored, according to the release.

Nominations can be made online.
