Baloian Farms names CFO

The company said Magatte Gueye, who brings experience in the fresh produce industry, will help drive its growth and profitability.

Baloian Farms, a family-owned grower of bell peppers, eggplant, mini peppers, cucumbers and squash, has hired Magatte Gueye as its new chief financial officer.

The company says Gueye will helm its financial operations and functions, including its financial strategy and performance, capital allocation, risk management, debt and treasury, accounting oversight, compliance, and governance, as well as drive the company’s growth and profitability.

Gueye is a native of Senegal in West Africa and is a U.S. Navy veteran, where he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, according to a news release. Following an honorable discharge from the Navy, Gueye started his career in fresh produce as a management trainee with Foster Farms, where he progressed to senior cost accountant. He later worked at Olam Spices & Vegetables as a senior financial analyst, Los Gatos Tomatoes as a controller and business administrator. He was promoted to finance director at Los Gatos Tomatoes.

Magatte holds an MBA with a finance minor from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science in professional aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He also has certifications in logistics and supply chain management from Embry Riddle.
