Craig Hope takes reins of AC Brands, company restructures

Agricultural Capital (AC) has restructured and added new leadership to prepare for rapid growth, according to the company.

Agriculture Capital (AC) has restructured and added new leadership to prepare for rapid growth, according to the company.

The company is now divided into AC Brands, AC Farming and AC Nursery & Genetics, according to a news release.

Craig Hope is the new CEO for AC Brands. He will lead the AC Foods U.S. fresh fruit packing and cold storage businesses: Suntreat/Legacy Packing and Cold Storage, Cal Valley Citrus, Columbine Vineyards and Silver Mountain Packing.

AC Brands will manage sales and marketing for AC’s citrus and table grape portfolios, including Suntreat, Sumo Citrus, I’m Pink, Columbine Vineyards, Holiday and Milano brands.

Hope has more than 30 years of experience in general management, sales and marketing, with Kraft Foods/Nabisco, E&J Gallo, Earthbound Farm (WhiteWave Foods) and Country Fresh Inc. He most recently was CEO and Director of Diamond Foods Inc.

Jason Allen is new chief financial officer at AC Brands. He has more than 20 years of experience at companies including Olam Americas, Newell Brands and the Hershey Co.

Darren Filkins is CEO of AC Farming, which oversees nearly 10,000 acres of citrus, table grapes, blueberries and tree nut farms, according to the release.
Roger Smith has been promoted to CEO of AC Nursery and Genetics, which includes TreeSource Nursery and Columbine Vineyard’s nursery and genetics programs.

“As we plan for investment in future expansion to build out our regenerative, vertically-integrated food businesses, the AC Brands, AC Farming, and AC Nursery and Genetics management teams are ready to scale to meet the dynamic needs of customers, growers, and retail partners,” Rob Hurlbut, co-managing director of Agricultural Capital, said in the release.
