Dimare Fresh Inc. vice president and chief operating officer Eric Janke recently retired after 15 years with the company.

Janke, who retired Jan. 31, started his career at Fleming Foods, sweeping floors and bagging groceries, according to a news release. His 40-year career included many roles at fresh produce companies, from produce clerk, to sales, procurement and operational positions, according to the release.

He has worked at Albertsons, Sysco, Tom Lange, Ready Pac Foods, Freshway Foods, Fresh America and Kraft Foodservice.

He was a founder/executive of natural food retailer Sun Harvest Farms and created the world’s largest pear display, according to the release. He thanked the Catalani and DiMare families for mentorship during his career.

“Thank you does not express the appreciation I have for the loyalty and dedication that Eric has displayed during his time with DiMare Fresh,” Paul DiMare said in the release.

DiMare Fresh has restructured his position, promoting a new vice president of operations and hiring a vice president of sales. The company said more information will be released later.
