Fred Heptinstall plans to retire from Polymer Logistics at the end of the year.

Heptinstall, CEO of Polymer Logistics North America, joined the company in mid-2016.

“Under his leadership, Polymer Logistics North America has grown its customer base, put together a high-performance organization, and delivered innovative solutions to the marketplace,” Gideon Feiner, CEO of Polymer Logistics, said in a news release.

Heptinstall was the president of IFCO Systems NA, starting in 2014. Before that, he was Chiquita Fresh North America for 13 years, with different roles, including executive vice president. He is a past chairman of the United Fresh Produce Association. In 2014, The Packer named Heptinstall as an industry leader in the 2014 Packer 25 of industry leaders.

He joined Polymer Logistics when the company was launching its wood-look reusable plastic containers, according to the release.

“It’s with mixed emotions that I announce that my extended contractual commitment to Polymer Logistics is coming to a close,” Heptinstall said in the release. “I do so confident in the knowledge that I am leaving them well-positioned for the future, and l am looking forward to continuing projects I put on hold while leading Polymer Logistics through its transformation.”

Feiner said he will be leading Polymer Logistics’ North American region for several months before a successor to Heptinstall is hired.
