Taking a look back at 2019, IFCO used company resources, expertise and employee engagement to help those in need.

The RPC company, based in Munich, donated to food banks, gave to charitable organizations, and employees volunteered in communities across the globe, according to a news release.

“IFCO and its employees are fortunate to be part of something special, the global effort to provide billions of individuals with safe, fresh, nutritious and affordable food year-round,” CEO Wolfgang Orgeldinger said in the release. “That is why it is important for the company and its employees to give back to those less fortunate and to the communities we serve.”

The company donated 30,000 RPCs to food banks, bringing the total to 300,000 since its program began in 2009,

“IFCO’s containers make our operation more efficient from beginning to end, making it easier for companies to get us their donations and easier for us to get rescued food to those in need,” Graham Hill, executive director of Food for Life, Ontario, Canada, said in the release. “The impact has been tremendous and that is why we call IFCO RPCs ‘little agents of change.”

Employees in Spain and France collected and sorted more than 2.2 tons of food donations at retail stores, helping food banks feed more than 5,000 people, according to the release.
