Manatee County Port Authority re-elects chairwoman

Manatee County Commissioner Vanessa Baugh has been elected to a third consecutive one-year term as chairwoman of the Manatee County Port Authority.

Manatee County Commissioner Vanessa Baugh has been elected to a third consecutive one-year term as chairwoman of the Manatee County Port Authority.

The port authority is the governing board of Port Manatee, according to a news release.

The authority also added new members Reggie Bellamy and Misty Servia.

Baugh has served on the port board since 2012, according to the release.

In October, the port reported a record fiscal year for cargo, of more than 9.3 million tons, a 19% increase from the previous year. Of that, more than 413,000 was fruits and vegetables, mostly bananas and pineapples shipped throughout the Southeast, according to a news release.
