Market Fresh director to help with company’s ‘aggressive growth’

William Wessels is the new senior director of supply chain management for Market Fresh Produce.

Wessels will be based at the Market Fresh headquarters in Nixa, Mo. He will be responsible for the oversight and direction of the company’s global sourcing, logistics and category management for all Market Fresh commodities, according to a news release.

Wessels has been in the industry for six years, the last two as senior demand manager of produce for Walmart Stores Inc.

CEO Steve Phipps said Wessels will help the company “aggressive acquisition growth strategy,” according to the release.

“We have very lofty goals for 2018,” Phipps said in the release. “William is just another addition of talent we have brought to the company to reach these goals.”
