Ocean Mist Farms promotes Chris Drew to COO

Ocean Mist Farms, Castroville, Calif., has promoted Chris Drew to chief operations officer and Gladys Venezuela-Corzo to vice president of human resources.

Ocean Mist Farms, Castroville, Calif., has promoted Chris Drew to chief operations officer and Gladys Venezuela-Corzo to vice president of human resources.

Drew joined Sea Mist Farms, a production affiliate of Ocean Mist, in 2004 as production manager. He moved to Ocean Mist in 2014 and most recently was vice president of operations. He was a member of the California Agricultural Leadership Program’s 47th class in 2016, and is on the California Leafy Green Marketing Agreement’s board until next spring.

He is chairman of the Horticultural and Crop Science Advisory Council at his alma mater, California Polytechnic-San Luis Obispo.

“Chris’ depth of knowledge for all facets of our operation makes him ready for his expanded role as our new chief operations officer,” Joe Pezzini, CEO of Ocean Mist Farms, said in a news release.

As chief operations officer, he will oversee production and harvesting as part of his expanded operations role, according to the release.

Valenzuela-Corzo joined Ocean Mist in 2015 as director of human resources. She has 17 years of experience of human resources leadership experience in agriculture and the publishing/media industry, according to the release.
