Procacci Bros., Philadelphia, is celebrating its 70-year anniversary.
The company was started by Joe and Mike Procacci in 1948, focusing on quality and service, Joe’s son J.M. Procacci, CEO of the company, said in a news release.
“My father taught me those principles from a very early age,” J.M. Procacci said in the release. “He also taught me to align our businesses with partners and stakeholders who share that mindset.”
Both of the company’s founders died within a week of each other last fall. J.M. Procacci’s son, Joseph III, is taking more responsibility in the company’s farming operations, according to the release, and J.M. Procacci’s daughter is a community outreach leader for the company. She is executive director of the company’s charity golf tournament, which is Oct. 1.
“As we mark the 70th anniversary of Dad and Uncle Mike opening the doors to Procacci Bros., it’s very important that we acknowledge and celebrate our greatest assets — the customers, suppliers and employees that have been so fundamental to our success,” J.M. Procacci said in the release.
The company is seeing growth in several segments, including floral, organics and the Feliz brand of ethnic and tropical items.
