Index Fresh seminars address avocado growing issues

Avocado marketer Index Fresh, Riverside, Calif., has scheduled its next seminar series for avocado growers.

The Seminars, May 8-10 are in different California avocado growing areas: San Luis Obispo, Ventura and San Diego Counties. Since 2011, Index Fresh has invited avocado experts to address issues ranging from export markets, pests, labor outlook, water issues and others on matters that affect the fruit’s growers, according to a news release.

“We believe it is our role at Index Fresh to host avocado cultural seminars to provide actionable material on timely and pertinent avocado topics,” Keith Blanchard, Index Fresh’s California field manager, said in the release.

Topics for the May seminars include soil science and sustainability, according to the release.
