St. Paul, Minn.-based Northwestern Fruit Co. Inc. will kick off the fall with an extensive assortment of products, including local and homegrown zucchini, yellow squash, corn, green beans and peppers, said Ron Spychalla, director of operations.

“We use as many local farms as we can,” he said.

The company also has expanded its gourmet line in an effort to create a white tablecloth niche with items such as vanilla bean, saffron, a large selection of gourmet oils and vinegars, and local polka dot berries.

“We’re trying very hard to stick with all the guidelines of the Farm to Fork Initiative and continue with all our local farmers,” he said.

The company also has hired a new sales representative, Keaton Kilkenny, who has several years of industry experience, he said.
