A partnership between two Ontario greenhouse growers, Jim DiMenna of Red Sun Farms, and Jeremy Capussi of JC Fresh, is building a 27-acre greenhouse in Kingsville, Ontario.
The new company, Red Sun Farms Ontario LP, will start construction on the greenhouse immediately, according to a news release. Havecon Horticultural Products, a greenhouse construction company based in the Netherlands, is in charge of the product.
The project is the first of three phases, with a total of almost 64 acres in total.
“This is an exciting time at Red Sun Farms as we embark upon this new partnership to meet the growing demands of our customers for quality, flavor and year-round availability,” DiMenna, president of the Kingsville-based Red Sun Farms, said in the release.
Red Sun Farms is a vertically integrated greenhouse company, with facilities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, according to the release. With the Kingsville project, its overall acreage will be more than 600 acres in North America.
Construction is planned to be complete in December 2020, including a packinghouse.
