BizMatch Plus to connect buyers and growers of onions, specialty produce, tomatoes and more in Q4

( )

As the inaugural year for The Packer and PMG’s successful BizMatch Plus program nears its final quarter, the virtual meeting coordinator has already connected 50+ individual fresh produce buyers representing more than 20 retail and foodservice companies with growers of more than a dozen commodities. Additionally, new sales have been closed during each of the commodity-specific sessions, delivering a win-win scenario for the entire supply chain.

In Q4 of 2022, BizMatch Plus will feature five key commodities and categories that have been specifically requested by participating buyers, including:

  • Onions – October 6
  • Specialty Items – October 18
  • Tomatoes – November 10
  • Fair Trade Products – November 16
  • Avocados – December 8

These BizMatch Plus sessions will empower suppliers to share the latest info on their business and products, and educate produce buyers on trends, market dynamics, and more. The program will guarantee dedicated and confidential time between growers and three selected regional and national buyers, perfect for presentations, conversations, and building rapport.

“We understand the dynamics of buyer turnover and are excited to provide a platform that will deliver valuable education to those who may be new to fresh produce procurement. We look forward to offering BizMatch Plus to forward-thinking suppliers who are motivated to connect with key decision makers,” said Matt Morgan, executive vice president of produce for Farm Journal.

The program continues to earn kudos from participating buyers.

“The Packer has developed a very interesting concept that will provide retail buyers with seasonally relevant, concise information sessions that will aid them in getting a seasonal category plan off to a good start,” said Jeff Cady, director of produce and floral at Tops Markets. “Knowing that time is one commodity that Mother Nature doesn't impact too significantly, spending a few minutes with a few vendors versus sporadic phone calls and emails throughout the season will be time well spent."

Each session will be capped at five suppliers and spaces are available now for all five scheduled sessions through the end of 2021. For more information and to secure your spot, please contact Angelo Grant at agrant@thepacker.com today.
