Maglio Cos., Milwaukee, Wis., has introduced a corrugated retail shipping unit that showcases its ReadyRipe watermelon pouches.

The high-graphic ReadyRipe dispenser includes information on the pouches, which allow for easy transport of watermelon wedges. The ReadyRipe units attach directly to watermelon bins, so they don’t take up floor space, according to a news release.

The pouches add value to the watermelon category, and add shelf life by regulating oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapor transpiration rates, according to the release.

Maglio Cos. has a video on the pouches, which were introduced in 2015. That year, ReadyRipe pouches received the United Fresh Produce Association’s New Product Award for packaging and the Produce Marketing Association’s Impact Award.
