Albertsons expands partnership with IRI
Analytics company IRI will be providing supply chain services to Albertsons, an expansion of an earlier relationship focused on maximizing point-of-sale data.
Inventory and transactional shipment data will now be used in the Liquid Data and Unify platforms of IRI, according to a news release.
“We feel that there is real power and efficiency in connecting insights from our store shelves all the way back into the collective supply chain,” Amanda Martinez, group vice president of corporate procurement for Albertsons, said in the release. “This expanded agreement with IRI will allow us to collaborate in a more meaningful and real-time manner with our suppliers. We believe it will help us to provide more of what our customers want no matter when or how they shop.”
The move by Albertsons, which operates banners including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons and Jewel-Osco, comes less than a month after Ahold Delhaize — owner of banners including Stop & Shop, Food Lion and Hannaford — announced a long-term deal with IRI to work with point-of-sale, frequent shopper program and supply chain data.
