Avocado brand connects campaign with World Cup, MLB All-Star Game

A new campaign for Avocados From Peru aims to reach sports fans on social media, online and on television during the next month.

Commercials that feature a soccer ball bouncing through beautiful spots around the country of Peru — including avocado groves and packinghouses — will air during World Cup soccer matches between June 14 and July 15 and during the Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 17, according to a news release.

“It’s been over 35 years since Peru has qualified for the World Cup and 50 years since the MLB All-Star Game was hosted in Washington D.C.,” Xavier Equihua, CEO and president of the Peruvian Avocado Commission, said in the release. “We are very excited about these opportunities to connect with soccer and baseball fans around the world.”

The commission will also be partnering during the campaign with Giant, Stop and Shop and Walmart in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
