Baldor Specialty Foods, Bronx, N.Y., is expanding the Urban Roots Veggie Side Kits line.
The kits are schedule to arrive at retailers this month and include vegetable noodles and cauliflower side dishes.
The new Urban Roots kits are:

  • Zucchini Pomodoro Veggie Noodles
  • Lo Mein Veggie Noodles
  • Sweet & Spicy Veggie Noodles
  • Risotto Style Cauliflower Rice
  • Thai Curry Cauliflower Rice

The kits are designed for easy preparation of restaurant-quality dishes, according to a news release.

“Besides offering terrific fresh taste, Urban Roots are also highly approachable and home-cook friendly,” Barry Frish, marketing specialist of culinary development at Baldor, said in the release. “We use ingredients people are already familiar with, making the kits a great way to incorporate healthy meals into the daily diet — without moving away from the norms of day-to-day eating.”

Baldor’s logistical expertise can bring the kits from “knife to shelf” in under 24 hours, according to the release.

“We’re excited to offer this innovative line of freshly-made veggie noodles,” Michael Muzyk, president, said in the release. “Veggie noodles are hot right now and Urban Roots is all about making the kitchen experience efficient, fun and successful.”

The company debuted other kits in the line in September 2017: Chili Cilantro Cauliflower Rice, Tabouli Style Cauliflower Rice, and Moroccan Spiced Cauliflower Rice.
