Bright Farms used its Fresh Summit booth to show off its locally grown leafy greens products and to share its plans for expansion.

Abby Prior, vice president of business development for Irvington, N.Y.-based Bright Farms, said the company recently opened a farm in Wilmington, Ohio, and expects to start shipping from it in the next 60 days. Bright Farms plans to open four new locations next year and 10-15 in the next two to three years, she said, thanks in part to $55 million in series D funding it received this year from Cox Enterprises.

Bright Farms is looking to revitalize the tender leafy greens category through its locally grown greenhouse lettuces and unique offerings such as its Sunny Crunch, similar to a cross between romaine and iceberg, Prior said.
