Sun Pacific, Pasadena, Calif., has hired Dave Medders as vice president of sales.

Medders, who began Feb. 25, oversees sales for Sun Pacific’s portfolio, including Cuties mandarins, Mighties kiwifruit and Vintage Sweets Heirloom navels.

He started his career at Griffith Farms, working in the citrus groves and packinghouses before moving into sales with Suntreat and Sunkist Growers. For the past 14 years, Medders has been at Dimetri Gardikas Produce Co., Santa Fe Springs, Calif., in procurement and sales roles for domestic and imported citrus. The past five years has been in a sales management role, according to a news release.

“His vast citrus sales experience and expansive product knowledge are valuable assets to our team,” Barney Evans, president of Sun Pacific, said in the release. “He will play an instrumental role leading our sales team and developing customer programs that maximize citrus category sales.”

“I have known the (Sun Pacific) family for over 15 years,” Medders said in the release. “Their farming practices, and their labels are some of the best in the industry.”
