Upshop, a software-as-a-service platform for forecasting, ordering, inventory management and more, and Invafresh, a cloud-based platform that optimizes grocery store operations such as merchandising, replenishment, compliance and waste prevention, have merged.

The companies say the merger will create a global retail enterprise operating platform built for the complexities of the food industry. It’s estimated that more than 400 retailers in 35 countries, operating more than 50,000 stores, will use this platform, according to a news release.

Upshop said it will formally launch its solution at the end of July, which will combine the best of both organizations’ food safety product suites. Some of the solutions will include fresh inventory and ordering management, omnichannel order fulfillment, control of direct store delivery and foodservice operations platform for C-stores.

“We’re poised to redefine what’s possible for the global community … retailers, associates and shoppers alike. We are intent on investments that bring profound impact to the industry. This is yet another huge step in Upshop’s mission to elevate the future of food retail on a global scale,” Sarah Sommer, partner of Level Set Equity, which invested in Upshot in January, said in the release.
