Side Delights is promoting immunity-boosting properties of potatoes.

“Potatoes are high in vitamin C, vitamin B6 and folate and can help restore electrolyte balance because they have a high level of potassium in addition to sodium — two important electrolytes,” according to a news release.

Plant-based foods, like potatoes, provide fiber and feed gut bacteria. Serving as a source of vitamins and antioxidants, potatoes help build the immune system.

Potatoes contain about 30% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C and 7% of the daily fiber that aids with gut health.

Creating a healthy lifestyle was trending before COVID-19, and with the pandemic, consumers are continuing this trend.

“As shoppers go back to work in office buildings, bringing a microwavable potato, such as a Side Delights Bakeables to work delivers a fast, hot lunch without additional exposure to potentially crowded lunchrooms,” Kathleen Triou, president and CEO of Fresh Solutions Network, said in the release.
Fresh Solutions Network created and markets the brand.
