Limoneira donates lemons to health care workers
Limoneira, Santa Paula, Calif., is donating cartons of lemons to health care professionals, food banks and other agencies.
That includes donations for doctors and nurses at five New York City-area hospitals, where the new coronavirus, COVID-19, has hit the hardest in the U.S.
Limoneira, in Ventura County, is also donating lemons to organizations in the county: Ventura County Medical Center, Community Memorial, Food Share, SPIRIT and Ventura’s Area Agency on Aging, according to a news release.
The agency on aging is hosting a food pantry for people age 60 and older and individuals with disabilities.
Limoneira has also donated Tyvek white disposable coveralls typically used by its citrus field workers to Community Memorial Hospital.
