The Kroger Co. is the latest major grocer to partner with an indoor farming company to supply its customers with greenhouse-grown produce.

The Hot Springs, Ark.-based company, now in its fourth generation of family ownership, has grown to feature over 2,400 SKUs of products sold through distributors in more than 60 countries.

During a GOPEX 2023 panel discussion, indoor ag leaders shared how successful growers customize their CEA operations to address specific crops, regions and markets to maximize supply chain resiliency.

“People are concerned about food inflation right now,” says Dr. Michael Swanson, Wells Fargo Chief Agricultural Economist. “Some premier celebration foods have actually dropped from a year ago.”
