The Big Idaho Truck will go into its eighth year of touring, “with no end in sight due to its continued demand,” said Seth Pemsler, vice president of retail/international for the Eagle-based Idaho Potato Commission.

The truck started rolling in 2012 as a one-year campaign to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission; it quickly became apparent to commission leaders that it would be more than a one-year occurrence, Pemsler said.

The truck travels the country promoting the Idaho potato and has a mission to help small charities in towns and cities with its “A Big Helping” program.

“The farmer still can’t find the truck in our national TV campaign,” Pemsler said. “We tap into Alexa to help consumers find and prepare Idaho potatoes, and so much more.
