Miami, Fla.-based Crystal Valley Foods has begun imports of blueberries for the 2018-19 season.

The company will be shipping Peruvian berries through mid-November, according to a news release, with Argentinian blueberries expected through mid-December.

Crystal Valley expects its first Chilean blueberries to arrive by air in early December, according to the release, with containers arriving mid-December through March.

The company also is offering Mexican blueberries, according to the release.

“We expect good volume and quality from all of our offshore blueberry growing regions,” Katiana Valdes, director of marketing at Crystal Valley Foods, said in the release. “Especially at the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019 from Chile.”

The company can provide customers with year-round berry supply, Valdes said.

“Not only are we looking forward to a great import season, we are already expecting good volume with both organic and conventional blueberries when we transition to Florida in late March,” she said in the release. “When we expanded into the berry category, it was imperative that we were not only able to supply great quality and volume during the winter months but also during the domestic season. We have successfully been able to do that.”

The release said Crystal Valley offers a variety of sizes, including 6-ounce, pints, and 18-ounce, for conventional blueberries during the import season as well as organic blueberries during the domestic season.
