Tantalizing New Jersey peaches are in full view of the state’s residents in early August.

The New Jersey Peach Promotion Council is advertising on electronic billboards and on social media and on websites, promoting a contest for the best recipe using New Jersey peaches.

The winner will be awarded $300 from the council.

“We hope that the combinations of billboards, social media promotions and contests will increase the visibility of Jersey peaches and their consumption,” Santo Maccherone, chair of the New Jersey Peach Promotion Council, said in a news release. “These promotions augment our traditional advertising and promotions. We are also asking consumers to give us feedback in a tracking box on our homepage to help measure where people are seeing our promotions.”

Promotion and contest info can be found at facebook/newjerseypeaches and websites www.jerseyfresh.com and www.jerseypeaches.com
