Chicago-based Agrow Fresh Produce Co. is introducing a new steam bag for petite potatoes, said Ed Romanelli, vice president of sales and marketing.

“We are introducing a new steam bag in Petite Red & Petite Yellow potato (Simply Season & Steam) — very unique concept as the bag itself is totally resealable,” Romanelli said.

“The customer peels the flap on the bag open, adds their favorite choice of seasoning, re-seals it and microwaves 7 minutes and done.”

He said the package doesn’t require the extra retail space a tray does.

Agrow Fresh has seen growth in several areas, he said, including small potatoes, organic potatoes and yellow potatoes.
