The newest venture of Minneapolis-based Roland Marketing Inc. is a partnership with Sunshine Produce LLC in McAllen, Texas, said Dan Meurs, chief operating officer at Roland Marketing.

The company will import limes, avocados, pineapples, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries from Mexico through Sunshine Produce seasonally, he said.

The partnership will enable Roland Marketing to offer those items year-round.

Meurs said the additional supply was needed as the company’s business continues to grow.

The firm also has begun to package organic potatoes and onions, plans to have its first-ever booth at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit in Anaheim, Calif., in October, and has hired Steve Gile as a salesman.

Gile’s background includes time at C.H. Robinson Co., Eden Prairie, Minn.
