Nearly one-quarter of banana buyers said they selected organic fruit at least some of the time, Organic Fresh Trends 2020 research shows.

Southern shoppers comprised the region most likely to always buy organic bananas; in fact, they were twice as likely to exclusively buy organic bananas as those in the Midwest, who were among the least likely to buy organic overall.

Half of all Asian banana buyers selected organic fruit at least some of the time, making this group the most likely overall to buy organic bananas. The likelihood of buying organic bananas exclusively decreased according to age, with those younger than 40 being the most likely to always buy organic fruit.
