The warehouse and distribution center of Miami-based Crystal Valley Foods has earned organic handler certification.

The certification was issued by SCS Global Services, according to a news release.

“Crystal Valley Foods has achieved organic handler certification at their Miami, Florida, facility, having demonstrated full compliance with USDA National Organic Program standards.” Brandon Nauman, SCS’s associate managing director of Organic and Non-GMO Programs, said in the release.

Crystal Valley offers year-round organic French beans as well as seasonal organic asparagus, blackberries, and Florida blueberries, according to the company.

Other organic specialty products are planned, according to the release.

“Consumption of organic produce has been steadily increasing for the past decade,” Katiana Valdes, director of marketing for Crystal Valley Foods, said in the release. “As we continue to diversify and expand our product line, we are focused on making sure that it includes organics as well.”
