Fresh Farms adds value-added deal
Fresh Farms, Rio Rico, Ariz., has launched a new value-added program for one of its retail customers, said salesman Al Voll.
The company was preparing two-count overwrapped foam trays of squash and cucumbers in mid-November and planned to add hard squash and bell peppers by December.
More retailers are requesting value-added packaging to ensure food safety and reduce handling at store level, he said, adding that the trend is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
