Bland Farms brings back SpongeBob Vidalia onion promotion
Glennville, Ga.-based Bland Farms has teamed with Paramount Pictures Corp. with a promotion tie-in with “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run,” originally slated for theaters in May but now heading straight to video on demand.
Bland Farms continues to see more demand this season, despite this year’s lower crop yields and issues from the pandemic, according to a news release.
“Our hope is that this season’s promotional SpongeBob Vidalia displays offer more accessibility and the quality our consumers have come to expect from us, as well as a bit of levity and fun,” marketing manager Meg Robinson said in the release.
Bland Farms is encouraging retailers with a national display contest. Produce managers can submit images of SpongeBob-themed Vidalia onion in-store displays to win prizes totaling $10,000.
In a consumer sweepstakes, shoppers can win prizes that include a trip to Paramount Pictures for a family of four. There is also an in-store and social media scavenger hunt.
