Fresh Innovations LLC has opened two new facilities and plans to launch a new, innovative product in the fall, said Jay Alley, vice president of sales.

The company has opened a 45,000-square-foot distribution facility in Rhome, Texas, and a new processing facility in the heart of Mexico.

Both are state-of-the art facilities built from the ground up, Alley said.

The company also has a DIY Tableside Guacamole Kit poised to enter the market in the fall.

“It’s a pretty exciting item for people who want to control how their guacamole is being made,” he said.

“It allows them to mix just the right about of pico de gallo into their avocado.”

The 13-ounce package includes an 8-ounce container of 100% pure avocado and a 5-ounce container of fresh pico de gallo that’s made with tomatoes, peppers, onions and a bit of lime juice.

“From a texture standpoint, it’s just like it was made in a restaurant for you when the two items are blended together,” he said.

The product is the newest addition to a full line of retail-ready guacamoles that includes original guacamole, chunky guacamole, super chunky avocado pulp, avocado salsa and spicy guacamole.

All are sold under the ¡Yo Quiero! Brands label and all are available in 8-ounce and 15-ounce containers and in 2-ounce portion-control packs.

Fresh Innovations focuses on retail sales but does some foodservice business as well, said president Jeff Morris.

“We’re doing some innovative things with foodservice operators that we hope will be an option for them with their curbside delivery and takeout to help them get their sales back up,” he said.

The company was established in 2018 by Alley, Morris, Steve Parnell and Don Bowden. Tara Murray, vice president of marketing, came on board in June.

“The focus of the company is all about innovation,” Alley said.

Fresh Innovations has more products in the works to be released in the fourth quarter of 2020 and first quarter 2021 that the avocado category has not seen before, he said.

“We believe that we can create new categories with avocado,” Morris added.
