Pacific Coast Fruit Company hosts first Kids in the Kitchen event

Pacific Coast Fruit Co. hosted its first Kids in the Kitchen event at the Boy and Girls Club of South Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash.

Five chefs, five Northwest produce growers and 25 children gathered Sept. 23 to teach and learn about produce, according to a news release.

Children were paired with chefs and growers to learn how to pick, store, taste, prepare, and serve fresh produce, according to the release.

The chefs and children competed against each other to use one produce item from each grower in a dessert, according to the release. The winning team received $100 gift cards and medals.
