Almond producers in California voted in December to continue the federal marketing order program, the USDA says.

Producers approved the continuation with 90.5% support, representing 93.3% of the production volume. For the marketing order to continue, at least two-thirds of producers voting, or producers representing at least two-thirds of the volume, must vote in favor of continuance.

The 10-member Almond Board of California locally administers the marketing order, which authorizes the implementation of research and promotion programs, quality requirements and regulation of the flow of product to market.
