Here’s a few posts we liked the week of April 10-16.

Anytime you can add a cute dog or cat in a social media post, do it. Be like the National Mango Board.

Who can resist at least a small upturn of your lip corners when you see this?

Not us. We are not immune to the wiles of furry friends and family. An enthusiastic dog combined with a perfectly cut, juicy, sweet golden mango is a sure win.

And yes, there’s a tie-in: National Pet Day on April 11. You don’t have to wait for National Mango Day on July 22 to celebrate these delicious joys.

California Giant Berry Farms employed many of the suggested tricks in this LinkedIn post to inform potential customers that California’s strawberry season is about to begin.

There’s a lot of good information in this well-written post and the accompanying photos bursting with bright berry-red color.

The #MothersDay2021 hashtag and holiday connection was not lost on us either. Even the ending hashtags add pertinent information in the most succinct way possible.

This Thomas Smith, director of sales, seems right for his role.

Facebook

Snake River Produce Co. is big on Instagram, posting several Stories a day, and as the platform is owned by Facebook, what you see on one, you see on the other, mostly.

Tiffany Cruickshank, assistant general manager and sales, posts funny, interesting and newsy posts. You can tell she really has that posting finger on the pulse of what’s trending.

This post appears at first to be one of those feel-good memes that are a dime a dozen. But no. It’s related to a very real crisis for onion growers in her Oregon and Idaho area, when the Old Owyhee Ditch broke, jeopardizing the watering of crops.

And like a social media pro, she asks a question at the end to inspire audience engagement, uses a hashtag and gives credit where credit is due for the photo and the quote.

Twitter

And the Twitter news tidbit of the week was a sight for sore eyes: produce professionals manning their booths at a trade show.

We missed seeing these in-person interactions, and of course, participating in them ourselves.

Robinson Fresh represented at the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure trade show and conference in Orlando.

The post celebrates the reconnection in a safe manner while providing a way for those who couldn’t make it to connect later with a link to a detailed form, Connect with an Expert.

Way to go, Robinson Fresh.

TikTok

The rainbow of color drew us to this reel by One Great Vegan, otherwise known as Gabrielle Reyes, the actress, award-winning singer, chef, author and host of The Colorful Home Cooking Show.

Her Caribbean Spice Cheesy Tostadas look so amazing, it’s easy to forget there’s no meat, poultry or dairy in there at all. (It’s vegan cheese, people. Substitute as you will.)

Naturally, Reyes sings the reel’s accompanying tune herself, unlike most TikTok posts.

There is so much fresh produce in this recipe, it’s like you could swim in it.

For instance, the mango salsa has avocado and rainbow tomatoes. The black-eyed peas go with black beans, red onions, bell peppers and cilantro.

She makes vegan food look really, really good.
