Labor of Love thanks Salinas Valley workers
Labor of Love is heading to California’s Salinas Valley to thank farm workers for their service as harvesting comes to a close.
Labor of Love, a program designed to acknowledge agriculture workers, will return to Yuma, Ariz., following its trip to California, according to a news release.
The program was established in 2015 by the Yuma Fresh Vegetable Association, and includes surprise meals and random acts of kindness. There is also a Facebook page and website dedicated to sharing farmers’ stories.
Dole Fresh Vegetable employees were visited by Labor of Love Sept. 29, and received breakfast burritos and Salinas International Airshow tickets, as well as chances to win gift bags, according to the release.
Guadalupe Zaragoza, a box closer for Dole’s celery harvest staff, was recognized for more than two decades of service at Dole, according to the release.
