Fresh Solutions Network, the exclusive supplier of Side Delights potatoes and onions, says it will showcase its newly redesigned Side Delights Organic potatoes and onions at the Organic Produce Summit trade show in booth No. 219 on July 13, 2023, in Monterey, Calif.

The Newport Beach, Calif.-based Fresh Solutions Network will be represented at the show by its partners, Basin Gold Cooperative of Pasco, Wash., and Sterman Masser Farms of Sacramento, Pa., according to a news release.

“We have exhibited at OPS since it began in 2016, and we are proud to participate in this show featuring our organic potatoes and onions,” Fresh Solutions Network President and CEO Kathleen Triou said in the release. “Organic-focused consumers desire purity in the food they eat. To meet that need, we provide transparency of these quality potatoes from where and how they were grown, stored and handled.

“Side Delights Organic potatoes are 100% non-GMO, USDA, and state-certified organic,” Triou continued. “The shopper-friendly packaging includes the top three most popular potato varieties: red, yellow and russet, available as a 3-pound offering in combo mesh, straight poly and BioFlex sustainable bags. Organic onions are sold under the Farmer’s Table organic brand, including colossal, jumbo and medium sizes of red, yellow and white onions.”

The organic potato segment commands a premium in the marketplace and continues to grow with 5% of the potato category dollar share, up 1.6% versus last year, the release said.

Organic volume sales represent a 3% share of the category, says Fresh Solutions Network, citing Circana data from Jan. 2, 2023, to April 2, 2023.

According to IFPA Global Insights December 2022, quality is the top focus for consumers, with 67% always considering quality when purchasing, in addition to other qualities that qualify produce as “premium.” Post-pandemic, 72% of consumers say they are willing to pay more for organic, 78% are willing to pay more for locally grown produce and 60% are willing to pay more for recyclable packaging.

“At the show’s new product showcase, we are featuring our new Side Delights Organic packaging,” Triou added. “It is a convenient way for show attendees to observe and compare the features of this new packaging against other potato packaging. We look forward to receiving the show attendees’ feedback.”

Side Delights offers a variety of choices for the organic and sustainable consumer, including Petite Organic Potatoes, Organic Potatoes, and Farmer’s Table Organic Onions.
