Wendy McManus, leadership coach of Connect 2 Potential, is continuing her long-standing relationship with the Center for Growing Talent by PMA by presenting two sessions at the upcoming Women’s Fresh Perspectives Conference (WFPC) in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, September 12 to 14.
In her primary session, Retrain Your Brain, McManus will illuminate the many ways in which we self-sabotage. She will cover the neuroscience behind how our habits of thought and well-worn neural pathways might cause us to respond negatively to challenging situations, and how that response can hold us back from reaching our full potential. And she will provide actionable strategies for building the three mental muscles that can lead to stronger relationships, improved performance, and greater peace-of-mind.
“My Retrain Your Brain session is based on the mental fitness training work that I do with my clients. I help people clearly hear the voices in their own heads and understand that they don’t have to believe everything they hear from those voices,” said McManus. “It’s important to realize that the voice you hear the most is your own, in your internal dialogue. You have the power to change your life by shifting the messages you feed yourself.”
During the conference, McManus will also facilitate the session, Speak Up and Inspire: Addressing a Group with Confidence and Composure. In this highly interactive experience, McManus will draw out the genius of the group as they discuss the benefits of speaking up. They will explore the brain and body responses that can create anxiety about speaking up. McManus will encourage participants to share their favorite tips and techniques for feeling more confident so they can speak up and make a bigger impact.
Said McManus, “The Speak Up and Inspire session will be created in the moment by the energy and input of the group. While I’ve got some key points to share, we really want to open up lots of space for participants to hear from each other. There is so much wisdom in the room when you bring together a group of smart women!
