Manter International B.V. has acquired shares of another Netherlands-based company, Solidtec B.V.

With the deal, Volm Cos. Inc., Antigo, Wis., a partner with Manter, will be able to offer both robotic and conventional palletizing systems, according to a news release.

Solidtec, Dronten, has manufactured gantry-style palletizing systems to the fresh produce and other industries since 1999.

Volm has manufactured robotic palletizers since it opened a facility in Ancaster, Ontario, in 2016, according to the release.

Volm has seen increased demand for conventional and robotic palletizing solutions.

“We’ve been able to do this with the help of suppliers in the past but feel this was a better business decision for both Volm and Manter moving forward, with all customers being able to benefit from the advantage of looking to one party for the manufacture, design and integration of the systems they need,” Matt Alexander, vice president of sales for Volm Cos., in the release.

Manter has seen interest in integrating palletizing equipment into packaging and weighing systems the company has installed. With the Solidtec team, the process is more efficient, according to the news release.

The companies continue to operate independently.
