Category Partners names director of analytics

With a background in category management and market research, Walter Liu brings experience from his tenures at Del Monte Fresh Produce and Coca-Cola Bottling Co.

Category Partners has appointed Walter Liu as director of analytics.

With a background in category management and market research, Liu brings experience from his tenures at Del Monte Fresh Produce and Coca-Cola Bottling Co., according to a news release; he has a doctorate in business administration and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Miami.

Category Partners said Liu will draw on his decades of experience in category management leadership to enhance the company’s retail analytics function and to further develop its capabilities in operations analytics. Drawing on his roots in education, he will lead and mentor a team of analysts to expand their capabilities, the release said.

“Adding Walter to our team is a major win for Category Partners,” Category Partners CEO Tom Barnes said in a news release. “His experience, skills and leadership will enable our team of analysts to reach a whole new level in bringing value to our clients.”

In welcoming Liu, Category Partners said it anticipates a significant enhancement in its ability to deliver value to clients across various sectors. With his expertise and leadership, the company said it aims to further solidify its position as a provider of insights and consulting services, setting a trajectory for continued growth and innovation in the dynamic landscape of retail and operational analytics.
