FiveStar hires Kate Brooks as VP of Eastern sales

FiveStar Gourmet Foods, Ontario, Calif., has hired Kate Brooks as vice president of sales-East.

FiveStar Gourmet Foods, Ontario, Calif., has hired Kate Brooks as vice president of sales-East.

Brooks most recently was director of prepared foods at Renaissance Food Group. She has 14 years of experience in the fresh value-added category, according to a news release. Before that, she was in several roles at Gourmet Kitchens Inc., Chicago, which was purchased by Taylor Farms in 2011. She was with the company 10 years, in roles that included director of business development.

At FiveStar Gourmet, Brooks is responsible for developing sales plans in collaboration with customers. She will be based at the company’s Naples, Fla., facility.

FiveStar Gourmet markets salads under the Simply Fresh brand, processed at two facilities in California, and is a Costco supplier, according to the release.

“It is fantastic to have sales talent like Kate added to our retail sales team to help perpetuate the Simply Fresh brand within the East,” Tal Shoshan, FiveStar CEO, said in the release. “She has a wealth of experience in delivering exceptional service and building sustainable partnerships.”

Brooks reports senior vice president of sales Kristyn Lawson, another recent Fivestar Gourmet hire.
