The produce industry mourns the loss of produce veteran Randy “Haru” Fukumoto.

Randy “Haru” Fukumoto, 89, passed away peacefully on Oct.4, after complications due to lung cancer, according to a news release from The Fresh Produce and Floral Council.

Fukumoto retired, formerly Director of Produce at Gelson’s Market. “He left memorable footprints for many to follow. He loved playing golf and was a member of Mokihana Golf Club of Gardena. A private service and “Celebration of Life” to be held at a later date,” according to the release.
