Applications are open for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee.

The agency said Oct.22 that intends to renew the charter of the committee when it expires March 26 next year. The USDA said it also is seeking nominees to fill three vacancies on the committee. The committee was established in 2001 and meets in person at least twice each year.

Individuals selected would serve two-year terms from March 27 next year to March 26, 2022, according to a news release. Beyond the three seats, the USDA is collecting nominations to develop a pool of candidates to fill future unexpected vacancies should they occur, according to the release.

Nomination packages can be submitted electronically by email to SCPFVIAC@usda.gov and are due by Nov. 21.
