Mastronardi Produce, Kingsville, Ontario, has appointed Andrew Maiman as president of Berry World America, the joint venture between Mastronardi and the United Kingdom’s Berry World.

Maiman is no stranger to berries, having worked at Sun Belle Inc. for two years in business development, and five years at Reiter Affiliated Cos., a large-scale berry supplier to Driscolls, as vice president of business development and operations. Most recently, he was at Camposol Fresh USA for five years, where he was general manager and blueberry business development director.

“Andrew is joining (Berry World America) BWA at a pivotal moment in the evolution of the American berry market,” Paul Mastronardi, president and CEO of Mastronardi Produce, said in a news release. “With his extensive experience in the category, I’m convinced he’s the person to successfully chart this groundbreaking initiative.”

Maiman will work with other Berry World America team members, including Adrian Olins, commercial director of Berry World Group, Wil Beekers, European CEO of BerryWorld Group, and Mastronardi.

“Andrew is the perfect addition to an already stellar team,” Nicole Balderas, vice president of marketing at Mastronardi Produce, said in the release. “Paul Mastronardi is a visionary brand builder, Wil Beekers is a berry varieties expert, and Adrian Olins is a global supply chain guru. Coupled with Andrew Maiman’s talent and legacy of business development excellence in the berry category, BWA will be a force.”
