The Little Potato Co. launches new line at Fresh Summit, adds flavor

The Little Potato Co., Edmonton, Alberta, is extending its easy potato side dish options with a new line, Easy Sides.

The product, which the company displayed Oct. 18-19 at the Produce Marketing Association's Fresh Summit expo in Anaheim, Calif., comes in four flavors designed to be family friendly, according to a news release.

The flavors:

  • Onion and Garlic;
  • Sea Salt and Black Pepper;
  • Paprika and Bell Pepper; and
  • Sweet Bell and Onion.

The creamer potatoes are slow-cooked with spices in the sous vide style and come fully cooked, allowing consumers to simply open the package and heat the potatoes in a skillet until crispy, according to the release.

“Through our consumer research, we discovered that one of the biggest pain points when it comes to eating potatoes is that they are too time consuming and complicated to prepare, so we’ve taken the complication out,” Richard Vann, vice president of marketing and product innovation, said in the release.

The packages hold three cups of creamer potatoes, according to the release, and the kits are free of artificial colors and flavors.

Little Potato Co. also launched a Lemon & Garden Herb kit under its Microwave Ready line.

The company's products are available at Fresh Summit booth 789.
