West Pak Avocado, Murrieta, Calif., has released a new video, Avocado Blitz, as part of its Avo Effect campaign.

The video details the popularity of avocados through the football season, and particularly on Super Bowl Sunday.

The video highlights the avocado journey from groves to game day, with foodservice and retail sales.
West Pak senior vice president of sales and marketing, Doug Meyer, discusses how avocados have been growing in popularity for the game.

“For the big game, the consumption on that day is the equivalent of every American eating one avocado,” Meyer said in the release.

“Today, it’s about large and very creative displays,” he said in the release. “When you walk into any major retailer for the big game avocado promotions, you’re going to see stadium-style promotional displays and cross-merchandising with several other items, not only in fresh produce but around the center of the store items like chips and beverages.”

Meyer also credited the Avocados From Mexico Super Bowl ads as driving interest. This year’s ad, in the second quarter, featured Molly Ringwald as a co-host of the Avocados From Mexico Shopping Network, selling a variety items to pamper avocados, from pool floaties to clothes and travel sets.
